Don’t Wing It! A Dynamic Discussion on Interpreter Professional Development in the Workplace

The workplace can provide a rich setting for interpreters to grow their professional performance at every stage of their career. Tapping into the potential for professional growth in the workplace, however, takes intentionality and initiative. In this moderated discussion, panelists will highlight on-the-job and employer-based learning initiatives. The panelists represent a variety of language services contexts and delivery modalities to ensure a dynamic and representative conversation that is meaningful for interpreter trainers, supervisors, and managers of any workplace context.

Note: This webinar topic will be most useful for trainers, educators, and instructors of interpreters.

Webinar purpose:

  • To inspire language services organizations and departments to create and facilitate continuous learning environments in the workplace
  • To share successes (or failures) in on-the-job learning initiatives
  • To identify resources that can facilitate a culture of continuous learning in various workplace settings
  • To explore trends in skills and knowledge (including gaps) of new interpreter professionals
